This weekend on the Mid-Ohio track, the #52 AFS/PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports Ligier JS P217 clinched the sixth place in the overall classification and finished first of the LM P2s. This weekend saw the start of the 2018 F4 U.S. Championship in Virginia with 33 Ligier JS F4s. Two free practices, one qualifying session and three races of 30 minutes were scheduled throughout the weekend. The Shanghai circuit hosted the inaugural round of the China Endurance Series (formerly FRD LM P3 Series) this weekend. Eleven Ligier JS P3s took part in this first round of the Chinese series. 36 Ligier JS F4s at the opening round of the 2018 F4 U.S. Championship!

The F4 U.S. Championship kicks off its third season this weekend at the Virginia International Raceway and has attracted a record entry of 36 cars. Alongside Honda, (engines) and Pirelli (tyres) Onroak Automotive is the sole F4 chassis supplier. After two seasons under the Crawford F4 moniker the cars have been renamed the Ligier JS F4 for 2018.
