Driving Tomorrow’s Mobility

Ligier Automotive helps OEMs develop vehicles powered by alternative or low-carbon energy technologies.

Our capabilities include:

- Internal combustion engines compatible with synthetic fuels (e-fuels)

- Hybrid powertrains

- Hydrogen internal combustion engines

Example: Ligier JS2 RH2

Developed with Bosch Engineering, the Ligier JS2 RH2 is a hydrogen-powered race car prototype designed to demonstrate the viability of this technology in competitive motorsport.

A true technical challenge completed in just seven months, from initial sketches to on-track testing. The car features a twin-turbo V6 fueled by compressed gaseous hydrogen, with an integrated tank, injection, and safety system built into the chassis.

This project reflects Ligier Automotive's commitment to delivering efficient, safe, and fully integrated hydrogen solutions under tight timelines.

Liquid Hydrogen – Pushing R&D Further

Ligier Automotive is also exploring the use of liquid hydrogen in race and road vehicles. Current development areas include:

- Cryogenic tank design

- Active and passive hydrogen safety

- Thermal management and packaging constraints

- Compatibility with multiple vehicle platforms

- Engine adaptation for liquid hydrogen combustion

This next step in our research reinforces Ligier Automotive's role as a key innovator in decarbonized motorsport, ready to meet future regulations and technological standards.
