A Ligier JS2 R Trophy in the Spanish Endurance Championship
Spanish Endurance Championship Press Release - The iconic French brand confirms its commitment to the Spanish Endurance Championship and proposes a single-make trophy with its Ligier JS2 R model.
The Ligier JS2 R made an excellent debut in the championship last season and clinched the 2021 title in the C3 category. As demonstrated, this car, which has been designed exclusively for racing, has exceptional features that make it the ideal car for gentlemen drivers or karting drivers who want to start their GT career. With a power output of 350hp and a weight of 1040kg, a selling price of €99,750 excluding VAT and a running cost of just €3.41/km, it has an unbeatable price/performance/pleasure ratio. The model's versatility is demonstrated by its participation in all kinds of events, in sprint or endurance, including the 24H SERIES where it has already won this year's 24H of Dubai and 6H of Abu Dhabi in its category.
Ligier Automotive is setting up a Trophy in the Spanish Endurance Championship, where the drivers who decide to participate can win the title in Class 2, the GPR category and the Trophy itself!
To reward the drivers who will compete for the Ligier JS2 R Trophy in 2022, Ligier Automotive is offering the following prize money, with a minimum participation of 5 Ligier JS2 Rs:
Classification by race
1st: €1,000
2nd: €800
3rd: €600
4th: €400
5th: 200€
These will be given in the form of credit notes on spare parts. The winner of the Trophy will win a test drive in the Ligier JS P4, the French brand's sport-prototype designed to discover the world of endurance racing.
Francesc Gutiérrez, Promoter of the Spanish Endurance Championship: "We are very happy that Ligier is committing itself to this championship and offering its help to all the teams that compete with its car. I was lucky enough to race in one of them last season and I don't know any other model that gives you so much for so little, so I think it's perfect for anyone who wants to start in GT without having to make a big expense. It's creating a lot of interest in what I think will become a success."
