HSR Watkins Glen: Second consecutive win for Wolf Motorsports

On 8 June 2024 at Watkins Glen, New York, the #25 Wolf Motorsports Ligier JS P320 won the third round of the Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) Prototype Challenge IMSA series.

- At the finish, James French was full of praise for his team-mate: “Alexander did an amazing job. Put it on pole, gave me a very comfortable lead and a nice gap to manage. This win gives us a little bit of breathing room in the championship.”

- French and Koreiba only relinquished command of the race during the mandatory pitstops. After 90 minutes of high-speed racing, they took the chequered flag with a margin of 28.232 seconds over the #74 Ligier JS P320 of John Reisman and Eric Curran (Hudson Historics). The team's second car, the #47 Ligier JS P320, finished fourth overall and third in the Pro-Am class, in the hands of Guy Cosmo and Bob Neapole.

- For the first time in the history of the IMSA HSR Prototype Challenge, the winning team in the Am class was on the overall podium, with the #8 Pierce Autosport Ligier JS P3, driven by Timothy Day and Wyatt Foster, finishing third. The latter even set the fastest lap of the race, in 1:41.450: “We did a lot of upgrades on our car from Road Atlanta, so it was nice to finally implement them,” he explained.

- After a second-place finish in the season opener at Sebring and a victory at Road Atlanta, this latest success sees James French and Alex Koreiba extend their lead in the Pro-Am standings. Fifth overall and second in the Am category at Watkins Glen, the #22 TWOth Autosport Ligier JS P3 and its drivers Tobias Lutke and Travis Hill still lead the Am standings.

For the fourth round of this inaugural season, the IMSA HSR Prototype Challenge will return to Georgia and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta from September 19-22, 2024.
