Kicking Off Season Six of the Ligier European Series in Barcelona
The sixth season of the Ligier European Series, the first rung on the endurance racing ladder and organized by Le Mans Endurance Management, got off to a promising start. With a record-breaking international grid, the 2025 season is shaping up to be the most competitive in the championship's history.
A record grid, a global reach, and a strong focus on driver development
This year, 26 cars are entered – 15 Ligier JS P4s and 11 Ligier JS2 Rs – representing 16 teams from five countries: France, Italy, Spain, the UK, and Poland. The driver lineup spans the globe, from Japan and Mexico to the UAE and across Western Europe.
Defending champions Team Virage (JS P4) and Pegasus Racing (JS2 R) are back to defend their titles, each fielding three cars. In a first for the Ligier European Series, four women are racing full season:
- Laura Villars in the #1 JS P4 for Team Virage,
- Amna et Hamda Al Qubaisi in the #88 JS P4, also with Team Virage,
- And Cindy Gudet multiple French hill climb champion, returning in the #68 JS2 R for MRacing.
True to its mission as a development platform, the championship continues to promote up-and-coming drivers. Thanks to the Ligier Junior Programme, 2024 Ligier JS Cup France Junior Champion Romain Boeckler makes his debut in the JS P4 category with Loire Valley Racing. He joins a crop of new talent from karting and junior formulas, including Vincent Bouteiller, Kristian Brookes, Luis Carlos Perez Cabello, and Ruben Hage. The JS P4 field welcomes several new teams such as 360 Competition, Trajectus Motorsport (founded by three-time Le Mans winner Benoît Tréluyer), and Loire Valley Racing, alongside seasoned squads like Team Virage, Pegasus Racing, Nielsen Racing, ANS Motorsport, Iron Lynx by MRacing, LR Motorsport, and ASM Motorsport. The JS2 R grid also sees fresh entries from Chefo Sport, VSF Sports, and 23Events Racing, with drivers coming from TCR Spain, Mitjet, GT4, and French F4. Both Trajectus Motorsport and Loire Valley Racing are competing in both categories, fielding Ligier JS P4s and JS2 Rs.
From hungry rookies to seasoned veterans, junior scholarship recipients to father-son duos and all-female lineups – the 2025 grid reflects the diversity and developmental spirit at the heart of the Ligier European Series.
