Ligier Automotive North America Hosts Successful Test Days at Carolina Motorsports Park
On October 1-2, 2024, Ligier Automotive North America organized two thrilling days of testing at the renowned Carolina Motorsports Park. The event brought together an impressive lineup of 18 Ligier race cars, 7 top-tier teams, and 16 drivers for a comprehensive, high-performance experience both on and off the track.
Ligier Automotive North America was joined by key personnel from Ligier JS F4 Series, F4 U.S., Championship, and FR Americas, including Scott Goodyear (Series Manager and Race Director), Ashleigh Aungst (Media and Marketing), and Wes Cunningham (Series Steward).
A Diverse Lineup of Ligier Race Cars
The test days featured a wide range of Ligier racing cars. The cars in attendance included Ligier JS F4, Ligier JS F422, Ligier JS F3 and even a Ligier JS P320 onsite.
Teams, Drivers, and Dynamic Track Sessions
Seven teams participated in the test event, including KIWI Motorsport, Allan Berg Racing, LC Racing, Momentum Motorsports, RASE Motorsports, MLT Motorsports, and Bowlsbey Motorsport. With 16 drivers eager to push their cars to the limit, the two-day schedule included four 45-minute sessions each day, with the final session extended to a full hour to maximize track time.
Educational Sessions for Holistic Driver Development
In addition to the on-track activities, Ligier Automotive North America offered a series of well-attended seminars aimed at enhancing driver development. Key sessions included:
- How to Make the Most of a Track Walk: Professional driver and coach Tom Long led drivers through a detailed track walk, providing insights on how to optimize their approach to every corner.
- Commercial – Funding Your Dreams: Mo Murray presented strategies on how drivers can secure funding for their motorsport careers.
- Fitness Planning and Benefits: PitFit associate Trey Shannon outlined the importance of physical conditioning in motorsports, presenting a fitness plan tailored to young drivers.
- Ligier Storm Engine: PAS President Chris Zucker presented the capabilities and the latest developments of the Ligier Storm Engine.
- Social Media Best Practices: Ashleigh Aungst of A2B Strategies shared insights on building a personal brand and leveraging social media for career advancement.
- Technical Seminar: Jeff Ryan of JRI Shocks led a technical session, offering valuable feedback on shocks and general engineering.
