Ligier Advanced Technologies unveils the Ligier JS F326: a new benchmark in the Formula Regional category.
Magny-Cours (France), October 10, 2025 – With the Ligier JS F326, Ligier Automotive, through its Ligier Advanced Technologies company, takes a new step forward in single-seater development. Designed to meet the latest FIA standards, this new Formula Regional Gen2 car combines innovation, performance, and safety, reinforcing the Ligier Automotive Group's position as a key player in the global single-seater market.
A new chapter for Ligier in the single-seater world
Since its creation, the FIA Formula Regional category has become an essential stepping stone to the upper levels of motorsport, bridging the gap between Formula 4 and international series. With the Ligier JS F326, Ligier Advanced Technologies goes even further, offering more than just a chassis — a complete technological platform designed to support the drivers of tomorrow.
Today, the Ligier Automotive Group is a major player in the sector, serving as the exclusive chassis supplier for the FIA F4 Championships in France, China, India, and the United States. Nearly 200 Ligier single-seaters are currently competing worldwide.
The Ligier JS F326, the first Formula Regional car developed by Ligier Advanced Technologies under the Ligier brand,* draws on the group's internal synergies — particularly HP Composites (part of the Everspeed Group, specialized in carbon manufacturing) and Ligier Automotive North America, which has supplied the FR Americas Championship with the Ligier JS F3 since 2018.
*Ligier Advanced Technologies, formerly Mygale, became majority-owned by Ligier at the end of 2024 after ten years as a minority shareholder.
Innovation and performance serving driver development
Designed to deliver an optimal balance of aerodynamics, performance, and accessibility, the Ligier JS F326 was developed using CFD in collaboration with long-time partner AERH. Its new carbon chassis, produced by HP Composites, meets the FIA minimum weight of 575 kg, more than 50 kg lighter than the previous generation, resulting in an estimated three-second gain per lap.
Although designed to accommodate various engine configurations, the Ligier JS F326 comes standard with a Horse V20 Performance engine, delivering maximum FIA approved power levels and featuring a push-to-pass system that provides instant power for uncompromising performance.
The car is also compatible with 100% sustainable fuels, in line with the FIA's carbon-neutrality goal for 2030.
A monocoque designed to exceed standards
With its new monocoque, Ligier Advanced Technologies sets new benchmarks in safety, performance, and innovation.
Thanks to the latest advances in carbon design and manufacturing, the chassis offers an unprecedented level of protection and rigidity in its category, going well beyond current FIA requirements.
It integrates cutting-edge technical solutions, including:
- Carbon monocoque structure compliant with the latest FIA standards
- Enhanced impact and intrusion resistance
- Roll hoop with increased maximum load capacity
- Full-length side anti-intrusion panels
- Ultra-flat aluminum front panel for improved energy absorption
- Reinforced seat bulkhead for optimal driver protection
- Hybrid-ready design, anticipating future technological evolutions
Because performance means nothing without safety, the Ligier JS F326 also incorporates the latest FIA regulatory features: an FIA-homologated halo, quick-release front and rear crashboxes, dual wheel tethers, an adjustable carbon seat with gap fillers, and an ADR system compliant with the latest FIA homologation.
A design inspired by Ligier's heritage
The Ligier JS F326 honors the brand's heritage while embracing modernity. Its metallic blue livery, accented with white lines and red touches, pays tribute to the Ligier JS43, the Formula 1 car that earned Ligier its last Grand Prix victory in Monaco in 1996.
The car completed its first laps at the Magny-Cours circuit before the summer break and continues its development testing.
Proven technical support, close to the championships
Beyond chassis design, the Ligier Automotive Group provides comprehensive technical support to all championships using its cars: engineers on-site during race weekends, setup assistance, technical updates, and system monitoring.
This structure is already in place in championships featuring Ligier single-seaters, including FIA F4 and FR Americas, ensuring a close and trusted relationship with promoters, teams, and federations.
“The Ligier JS F326 anticipates and integrates all the latest FIA safety requirements, with reinforced side panels and a stronger main roll hoop. The use of new materials and innovative design techniques allowed us to reach the FIA minimum weight while improving comfort and accessibility for young drivers.
We also focused on reducing steering torque and braking effort, and on optimizing aerodynamics to encourage closer racing.
This car represents a major step forward — the result of outstanding teamwork within the Ligier Automotive Group and with our partners.”
