LR Dynamic Events Launches the Ligier JS2 R Italian Trophy within the Supersport GT championship.
Official Ligier Automotive partner in Italy, LR Dynamic Events announces the launch of the Ligier JS2 R Italian Trophy, a new class dedicated to the Ligier JS2 R within the Supersport GT championship, in collaboration with ESTC Promotion.
This initiative follows the continued development of the Ligier JS2 R on the Italian market, after a standout 2025 season in XGT4 Italy, which concluded with second place overall and the Cup category title. The project aims to structure a coherent sporting offering around the JS2 R, targeting teams and drivers looking to compete in an accessible yet highly competitive environment.
The Ligier JS2 R: a proven and educational race car
Launched in 2018, the Ligier JS2 R quickly established itself as a benchmark in customer racing. Designed to combine performance, reliability, and cost control, it meets the expectations of a wide range of drivers, from gentleman drivers to young talents in the learning phase.
With more than 120 cars sold worldwide, the Ligier JS2 R is now competing in numerous national championships and dedicated series, confirming the relevance and strength of its concept.
A dedicated trophy at the heart of the Supersport GT championship
The Ligier JS2 R Italian Trophy will be integrated into the Supersport GT championship by ESTC Promotion, featuring a five-event calendar on some of Italy's most iconic circuits. Each event will include two 45-minute races with a mandatory pit stop, introducing an initial endurance dimension.
To strengthen pathways toward international racing, the winning crew of the trophy will be awarded an entry for the Ligier European Series round held at the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit in 2027— a unique opportunity to step into European endurance racing on a legendary track.
The Ligier JS2 R Italian Challenge: a gateway to racing
Alongside the Trophy, the Ligier JS2 R Italian Challenge is aimed at drivers discovering motorsport competition. This format will include two major ATCC Cup meetings, completed by a 2-hour endurance finale at Vallelunga. The 20-minute sprint races will provide an ideal environment to learn, progress, and reveal potential, with a particularly competitive budget.
A clear vision for the Ligier JS2 R in Italy

Today, Ligier Automotive represents a genuine gateway to endurance racing, with costs that allow many drivers to get started and stand out, which unfortunately has become increasingly difficult in recent years.”
