Mygale becomes Ligier Advanced Technologies: a new identity for strengthened expertise in single-seaters and advanced engineering

Magny-Cours, April 10, 2025 – For over 35 years, Mygale has been a key player in the world of single-seaters, designing and manufacturing race car chassis for top-level championships around the globe. Ligier Automotive, which became a shareholder in 2013, took a majority stake at the end of December 2024—marking a new chapter in the integration of the two companies.

Today, Mygale adopts a new identity in line with the Ligier group's strategic direction: Mygale becomes Ligier Advanced Technologies. This rebranding comes with a refreshed visual identity, a unified digital presence, and a reinforced positioning in the motorsport industry.

A consolidated worldwide presence

Ligier Automotive, through its American subsidiary Ligier Automotive North America, is already present on the single-seater market in the United States with the Ligier JS F3, Ligier JS F422 and Ligier JS F4 single-seaters. These single-seaters are entered in competitions such as the FIA FR Americas, the FIA F4 U.S. Championship and the Ligier JS F4 Series. For its part, Mygale is firmly established in the F4 single-brand championships in France, China and India. With this acquisition, Ligier Automotive brings together the F4 championships of these four countries under a single banner, reinforcing its position as a key player in single-seater racing.

The Mygale cars will gradually be renamed Ligier, unifying the range under a single, emblematic brand.

The first concrete expression of this strengthened collaboration will be the development and presentation of the new Ligier JS F326 in 2025, a single-seater complying with FIA FR 2026 regulations and eligible for FR championships worldwide from 2026.

Bertrand Decoster, founder of Mygale and now General Manager of Ligier Advanced Technologies:

“This name change is a natural and strategic evolution. It reflects our drive for excellence by leveraging the strength of the Ligier brand while continuing to do what we do best: design and manufacture high-level vehicles and components. This is a new chapter, but our DNA remains the same.”

Jacques Nicolet, President of Ligier Automotive:

“Bringing Mygale under the Ligier brand is part of our ambition to offer a clearer, more consistent, and more ambitious range of products and services. Ligier Advanced Technologies reflects our ability to innovate, manufacture, and support constructors, federations, series organizers, and racing teams with top-tier solutions across all areas of motorsport.”

A unified identity and digital presence

This rebranding includes a complete overhaul of the company's visual identity. Vehicles previously designed by Mygale are now marketed under the Ligier name.

The transition is already visible on starting grids: the F4 chassis in the French, Indian, and Chinese championships will compete in the 2025 season under the name Ligier JS F422, proudly displaying the Ligier badge on the nose.

The content from Mygale webiste has been fully integrated into ligierautomotive.com, where the group's entire range of vehicles and areas of expertise are now brought together.

The teams, know-how, and services remain unchanged, ensuring a smooth transition for clients, partners, and championships alike.

A new era, new ambitions

The first tangible outcome of this new chapter will be the upcoming launch of the Ligier JS F326, the next-generation FIA-homologated Formula Regional chassis. It embodies the group's ambition: to build high-performance single-seaters for the talents of tomorrow.
