Prototype Cup Germany, Lausitzring: Konrad Motorsport takes the lead of the 2024 standings with its Ligier JS P320.

The Spa-Francorchamps meeting scheduled on 19-21 April was cancelled due to difficult weather conditions, so the third season of the Prototype Cup Germany kicked off on 24-26 May 2024 at the Lausitzring circuit near Berlin. Torsten Kratz and Danny Soufi, driving Konrad Motorsport's #2 Ligier JS P320, enjoyed a near-perfect weekend, with three podium finishes, including two victories, taking them to the top of the overall standings.

- The 2024 calendar includes two races per meeting, but a third was added at Lausitzring following the cancellation of Spa-Francorchamps.

- Of the eight teams entered, four are fielding Ligier JS P320s: Konrad Motorsport (#2), MRS GT-Racing (#14), Frikadelli Racing Team (#30) and AF2 Motorsport (#47).

- Runners-up in Race 1 on Saturday, Kratz and Soufi earned their revenge in the two races on Sunday. They gave Konrad Motorsport, already 2024 Prototype Winter Series champion, their first two victories in the German championship.

- “This first success was really special, as everyone in the team has worked hard to achieve this,” stated Soufi after race 2. The young American also won a five-man battle in the third race. “I have never had so much fun in a LMP3 race,” Soufi added. “That was an unbelievable race for Danny, he won it for us”, concluded Kratz.

- At the end of this opening round, three teams entering a Ligier JS P320 are in the top five of the provisional overall standings: behind the leaders Kratz and Soufi, Felipe Laser and Klaus Abbelen (Frikadelli Racing Team) are fourth, and Antti Rammo (MRS GT-Racing) fifth. Rammo also leads the overall Prototype Cup Germany Trophy standings, as does Danny Soufi in the Prototype Cup Germany Junior.

- The next meeting of the Prototype Cup Germany 2024 will take place from 12 to 14 July at the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands.
