Prototype Cup Germany, Norisring: Konrad Motorsport’s Ligier JS P320 widens the gap at the top of the championship

On July 6–7, 2025, the Prototype Cup Germany made a stop at the Norisring under sweltering summer conditions. The #2 Konrad Motorsport Ligier JS P320 continued its consistent campaign with a second-place finish in Race 1 and a victory in Race 2. It was a strong weekend that allowed drivers Danny Soufi and Pavel Lefterov to strengthen their lead in the overall standings.

Race 1: A strategic podium in the heat

Temperatures were scorching for the seventh race of the season. In tough conditions for both drivers and machines, the #2 Konrad Motorsport Ligier JS P320 once again rose to the occasion. After a hard-fought race, Danny Soufi and Pavel Lefterov crossed the line in second place, scoring valuable points for the championship.

‘‘The start was tricky, which was not what I had planned.' confided Danny Soufi. ‘‘It was a hard but clean and fair battle with Valentino for first place. The rest of my stint was not easy either, but the team had a good strategy and I was able to hand the car over to Pavel in a good position.”

“It was not possible to win the race today, even though Danny and I gave it more than 100 percent.'' added Pavel Lefterov. ‘‘However, second place means we scored as many points as possible towards the championship, which is key for us at the moment.”

Race 2: A controlled Victory

The following day, the eighth race of the season took place under overcast skies and cooler temperatures. But on track, the tension remained high. Pavel Lefterov made a decisive start, overtaking Óscar Tunjo in the opening meters and taking the lead, which he held until the mandatory driver change.

“It was a good start. I then simply tried to keep Oscar behind me and avoid making any mistakes.” explained the Bulgarian driver. His solid and controlled performance set the team up for a shot at victory.

Danny Soufi then took over to finish the job. “Pavel did a great job, as it was only really possible to take the lead without taking any major risks at the start. I had a few issues with the brakes in my stint, but all in all it went really well.”

With this fourth win of the season, the #2 Konrad Motorsport Ligier JS P320 continues to establish itself as the benchmark in the 2025 campaign.

Another notable performance came from the #3 Aust Motorsport Ligier JS P320, which finished third with drivers Maxim Dirickx and Sven Barth. Barth capitalized on the retirement of Mathias Bjerre Jakobsen to hand the car over in fourth place to his Belgian teammate, who delivered a flawless stint to secure the team's third podium in four races.

This latest victory allows the #2 Konrad Motorsport Ligier JS P320 to extend its impressive podium streak.

Provisional standings: Konrad pulls away

With a total of 176 points, Konrad Motorsport and its drivers, Danny Soufi and Pavel Lefterov, sit at the top of the Prototype Cup Germany standings, holding a 54-point lead over their closest rivals. Their consistency since the start of the season has been remarkable: four wins, three second-place finishes, and one third place in eight races.

A performance that highlights the reliability of the Ligier JS P320, the strength of the driver pairing, and Konrad Motorsport's efficiency in managing every race weekend.

The next race will take place on August 9–10 at the Nürburgring.
