TC France, Le Castellet: Four wins and a title for the #89 AGS Events Ligier JS2 R and Nicco Ferrarin

The sixth and final round of the FFSA Tourisme 2024 French Championship took place from October 4 to 6 at Le Castellet, on the Paul Ricard circuit. Winner of the weekend's four races in the #89 AGS Events Ligier JS2 R, Nicco Ferrarin was crowned champion in the GT Light category. This is the second consecutive year that a Ligier team has won the GT Light class title.

- Four Ligier JS2 Rs were on track at Le Castellet. In addition to the AGS Events car entered for Nicco Ferrarin, Team CDRS was entering three others for Christophe Isaac / Nicolas Labat-Camy (#23), Stéphane Codet (#33) and David Chiche (#29), leader of the overall GT Light standings on the eve of this final meeting of the 2024 season. Nicco Ferrarin and AGS Events were just thirteen points behind.

- From the second free practice session onwards, the #89 Ligier JS2 R never relinquished top spot, either in qualifying or in the four races.

- Nicco Ferrarin won the first three races of the final and consequently narrowed the gap in the overall standings, while David Chiche finished third in race 1 and second in races 2 and 3. Race 2 ended on a 100% Ligier podium, with Stéphane Codet taking third place.

- Race 4 determined the GT Light 2024 champion. The duel reached its peak of intensity, with Nicco Ferrarin and David Chiche repeatedly exchanging the lead over the last ten laps of this final race.

- It was eventually Nicco Ferrarin who snatched the final victory of the 2024 season. This fourth victory of the weekend enabled Nicco Ferrarin to claim the GT Light 2024 title in extremis with 212 points, three ahead of David Chiche.

- Nicco Ferrarin left his mark on a season in the shape of a chase. After missing all four races of the Coupes de Pâques at Nogaro, the opening meeting of the season, he scored no fewer than thirteen victories in the remaining twenty races.

- If we add to Nicco Ferrarin's impressive score David Chiche's six victories, as well as Ewan Hachez's two at the Spa-Francorchamps meeting in the #31 SPX Competition car, the Ligier JS2 R will have dominated the GT Light category in 21 of the 24 races of the FFSA Tourisme 2024 French Championship.

This is the second consecutive year that a Ligier team has won the GT Light class title. In 2023, it was the #27 Belt Racing by LVR Ligier JS2 R that won.
