TC France, Magny-Cours: quadruple victory for AGS Events Ligier JS2 R
The fourth round of the FFSA Tourisme French Championship took place on the Magny-Cours circuit, near Nevers, from August 22 to 25. Nicco Ferrarin achieved a perfect score at the wheel of the AGS Events Ligier JS2 R, winning the GT Light class in the weekend's four races.
- In addition to Nicco Ferrarin's Ligier JS2 R, two other Ligier JS2 Rs were among the GT Light competitors. They were entered by Team CRDS and driven by David Chiche (#29) and the duo Cyril Melet / Nicolas Labat-Camy (#33).
- In the very first free practice session, Nicco Ferrarin set the fastest time in the class with a time of 1:52.471. This time put him in the top 5 overall. David Chiche (1:53.637) and Cyril Melet (1:55.999) were second and fourth respectively in GT Light.
- Nicco Ferrarin was even faster in the second session with a time of 1:49.454, as was David Chiche with the third fastest time (1:50.534) in GT Light. Nicolas Labat-Camy took over from team-mate Cyril Melet in the #33 Ligier JS2 R to finish fourth in class (1:52.284).
- Nicco Ferrarin continued his domination during the two qualifying sessions, finishing fifth (1:48.509) and fourth (1:48.078) overall.
- The driver of the #84 AGS Events JS2 R concluded his weekend with four GT Light victories in as many races, even finishing in the top five overall in races 1, 3 and 4 (4th).
- Second in the first three races, David Chiche in his #29 Team CRDS Ligier JS2 R was forced to retire in the fourth race. Leader of the overall GT Light standings, he now sees Nicco Ferrarin in pursuit of the title thanks to his winning quadruple.
- Cyril Melet and Nicolas Labat-Camy in the #33 Team CRDS Ligier JS2 R finished third in races 1, 2 and 3.
The fifth and penultimate round of the French FFSA Tourisme Championship takes place from September 13 to 15 on the Dijon-Prenois circuit.
