TC France, Spa: Team CDRS’s Ligier JS2 Rs dominate GT Light class

The FFSA French Touring Car Championship took a trip across the border on June 21–22 for the Spa Speedweek. On the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Team CDRS's Ligier JS2 Rs shined in the GT Light category, securing an impressive one-two finish in every race that weekend. Four races, four wins for Stéphane Codet in the #5 Team CDRS Ligier JS2 R, reigniting the title fight against teammate David Chiche in the #29 car.

For its only stop outside France this season, the FFSA French Touring Car Championship (Championnat de France FFSA Tourisme) rolled into Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium. A prestigious event and one of Europe's most demanding circuits, made even more memorable by sunny skies and packed grandstands. In this legendary setting, the Ligier JS2 Rs put on quite a show in the GT Light class.

Big fan of the Ardennes toboggan, Stéphane Codet, driver of the #5 Team CDRS Ligier JS2 R, made no secret of his enthusiasm about returning to Spa. And he kept his word. Facing off against his teammate David Chiche in the #29 Team CDRS Ligier JS2 R, Stéphane Codet set the pace all weekend long. He swept all four sprint races in the category, completing a spectacular grand slam. Thanks to this performance, he cut his points deficit to David Chiche by 14 and fully reignited the championship battle.

Behind this 100% Ligier leading duo, Laurent Joubert, driving the #79 J'Nov Auto Racing by JSB Ligier JS2 R, claimed third place in three of the four races. A strong result that once again highlights the competitiveness of Ligier-badged GT Light entries in a diverse field.

The championship heads into the second half of the season in early August at Magny-Cours (August 1–3), with momentum clearly building. Team CDRS's Ligier JS2 R will be in the spotlight more than ever.
