The Ligier JS Cup France Unveils the Calendar of Its Eighth Season and Confirms the Success of the Ligier Junior Programme.
Since 2019, the Ligier JS Cup France, organized by M3, has been the single-make championship exclusively dedicated to the Ligier JS2 R, the GT developed and produced by Ligier Automotive. With 4 to 6-hour endurance races open to both gentlemen drivers and young talents, the series has become a benchmark in French and European motorsport. Proof of its appeal, the 2025 season gathered up to 26 cars on the grid. Launched in 2024, the Ligier Junior Programme has already established itself as a true springboard to international endurance racing.
The series has just revealed the calendar of its eighth season, which will take place in 2026. This new edition will feature six rounds on some of France's most iconic circuits, with two highly popular European venues also returning: Spa-Francorchamps and Portimão.
Back to Le Mans to Open the Season
After a one-year break in 2025, when the season opener was held in Valencia, the series returns to tradition with a six-hour race at Le Mans on March 27-28.
The championship will then continue at Magny-Cours on May 22-23, also with a six-hour race, before heading to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit on July 3-4 for a four-hour round.
Following the summer break, competitors will meet again at Le Castellet on September 4-5 for another six-hour event, then in Portugal at Portimão on October 2-3 for a six-hour race. The season will conclude at Nogaro on October 16-17 with a six-hour grand finale.
The Ligier Junior Programme: A Springboard to International Endurance Racing
Launched in 2024, the Ligier Junior Programme quickly established itself as a success within the Ligier JS Cup France. Its mission: to create a real pathway to international endurance and ACO championships by giving young drivers the chance to train within the Ligier JS Cup France before progressing further up the ladder.
The principle is simple: the Junior champion receives an exceptional prize from Ligier Automotive— the provision of a Ligier JS P4 to compete in the following season of the Ligier European Series.
In its very first year, the program attracted 13 young drivers, a number confirmed again in 2025. Adding to its appeal, several participants from the inaugural 2024 season chose to return for a second campaign, proof of the program's value and support. This success is illustrated by the journey of Romain Boeckler, the first Junior champion of the Ligier JS Cup France. Thanks to his prize, he competes in the 2025 Ligier European Series in a Ligier JS P4, where he currently leads the championship. If he clinches the title, he will receive a further €150,000 prize to move up to the Michelin Le Mans Cup in 2026, in the LMP3 category, behind the wheel of a Ligier JS P325.
Tighter Battles Than Ever
The 2025 season underlines the excitement and intensity the Ligier Junior Programme brings to the series. The Junior classification is fought over five rounds and remains particularly close. With two rounds to go, Jérémy Sarhy (Ligier JS2 R #11 – DRIV'N - MC DO) leads with 132 points, closely followed by Paul Alberto (Ligier JS2 R #93 – ZOSH - J4R) with 127 points.
The overall championship is just as fiercely contested, with only 12 points separating the leader from the runner-up: the #6 of ORHES – RACE LINK APP Ligier JS2 R has 362 points, versus 350 for the #93 of ZOSH – J4R Ligier JS2 R.
Looking Ahead to 2026
The suspense remains high as the 2025 season heads toward its conclusion, with titles on the line and the endurance dream of the Ligier Junior Programme within reach.
But already, all eyes are on 2026 and its prestigious calendar. With a strong and competitive grid, iconic French circuits, and two European rounds beloved by drivers, the eighth season of the Ligier JS Cup France promises to confirm the success of a unique championship, 100% dedicated to the Ligier JS2 R.
