A Ligier sport-prototype scores another victory at Daytona!

After the Ligier JS P2's victory in the 2016 Daytona 24 Hours, the Ligier JS P3 came out on top this weekend on the Florida circuit! ANSA Motorsports won the first round of the 2018 IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda with the #4 Ligier JS P3 driven by Roman De Angelis. The young Canadian aged 16 found himself up against tough opposition, in particular the Norma M30 run by Forty 7 Motorsports and the Extreme Speed Motorsports Ligier JS P3s.

In addition, Ligier JS P3s set the two fastest laps in the race confirming the performance of the French car on the high-speed Florida circuit.

In 2017, a Ligier JS P3 won 11 of the 13 races in the Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda and the second year of the championship kicked off with another victory by the French sports prototype. At the Roar before the Rolex the #4 Ligier JS P3 entered by ANSA Motorsports came out on top on the 5,529 km layout in the first of the six rounds of the 2018 IMSA series run to a new 1h45mn format.

Young Roman De Angelis, who was in eighth place on the grid, took the chequered flag at the end of a hotly-contested race in front of the #47 Norma M30 run by Forty 7 Motorsports followed by the #30 and #3 Ligier JS P3s entered by Extreme Speed Motorsports.

In addition, by setting the fastest laps in the race in the #30 Extreme Speed Motorsports and #25 P1 Motorsports Ligier JS P3s, Daniel Morad and Kenton Koch confirmed the pace of the Onroak Automotive cars on the Daytona circuit.

The second round of the IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda will take place in mid-March as a curtain-raiser to the Sebring 12 Hours.
