F4 U.S. Championship, COTA: Daniel Quimby Takes the Title, Alex Popow Shines with Two Wins
From October 31 to November 3, the 2024 F4 U.S. Championship season finale unfolded at the Circuit of The Americas in Texas. Daniel Quimby (Ligier JS F422 #24, Atlantic Racing Team) clinched the championship after a dramatic weekend that also saw rookie Alex Popow (Ligier JS F422 #55, MLT Motorsports) make a stunning debut with back-to-back wins.
A Tight Battle for the 2024 Title
Heading into the final event, just 5.5 points separated title contenders Daniel Quimby and Nicolas Stati (Ligier JS F422 #15, Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport). But it was Alex Popow who stole the spotlight in his first outing, setting the fastest time in practice (2:11.498) and securing pole position in qualifying with a 2:11.816.
Race 1: Alex Popow's First Victory
Alex Popow dominated the opening race, leading every lap to claim his maiden F4 U.S. victory and the first win for MLT Motorsports.
“It's definitely special to win here. My dad used to race here and he won here around 2014.”
Behind Popow, Nicolas Stati moved up a spot at the start and finished second, just 1.394 seconds back. Daniel Quimby crossed the line in fifth. Connor Roberts (Ligier JS F422 #46, Team Roberts Racing) delivered an impressive start from fifth on the grid and completed the podium.

Race 2: Popow Goes Two-for-Two
Saturday's race saw Alex Popow continue his winning streak with another commanding performance.
While Daniel Quimby finished second, title rival Nicolas Stati initially crossed the line in third but was handed a post-race penalty, dropping him to sixth.
Connor Roberts inherited third place, followed by Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport teammates Barrett Wolfe (#13) and Alex Crosbie (#41), who rounded out the top five.

Race 3: Crosbie Wins, Quimby Secures the Championship
The 14th and final race of the season belonged to Alex Crosbie, who started from pole thanks to his fastest lap in Race 2.
Daniel Quimby, starting third, wasted no time in overtaking Alex Popow at Turn 1 to move into second. With the championship on the line, Quimby needed to finish at least two positions ahead of Nicolas Stati to claim the title.
Stati ultimately finished fifth, behind Roberts and Popow, while Quimby's second-place finish sealed the championship. With five wins and ten podiums across the season, Quimby earned the 2024 F4 U.S. Championship title by a narrow 4.5-point margin, succeeding Patrick Woods-Toth.
On the team side, Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport continued its dominance, capturing its sixth championship title with five wins this season.
