FR Americas: Ryan Shehan and Callum Hedge share the first victories of the season at Nola Park

The new season of the FR Americas championship got off to a flying start on 11 - 12 March for two drivers from the Australian team  Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport, which dominated the first meeting. On the Nola Park circuit in New Orleans, Ryan Shehan (#66 Ligier JS F3) clinched first place in races 1 and 2. His team-mate Callum Hedge (#3 Ligier JS F3) emerged victorious in race 3.

• Ryan Shehan in the #66 Ligier JS F3 entered by Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport was quickest in free practice 1 with a time of 1:34.754s.

• Hayden Bowlsbey in the #3 IGY6 Motorsports Ligier JS F3 topped the time sheets in free practice 2 lapping in 1:35.163s.

• Shehan set pole position for race 1 in 1:34.348s at the wheel of the #66 Ligier JS F3.

• Shehan scored a double by winning the first two races of the season. “The fact that we can come out here and be competitive in our first race shows how good of a team [Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport] they are, and how good their preparation is”, said Shehan after race 1. “That definitely wasn't easy. I just did my best to maintain the gap to Cooper [Becklin, in the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3 #19], and was able to get away with the win,” he pointed out after race 2.

• Hedge in the #17 Ligier JS F3 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport sealed victory in the third and final race of the weekend.

The second round of the FR Americas Championship will take place at Road America on 18 - 21 May.
