HSR Prototype Challenge, Watkins Glen: Successful Debut for Graham and Latham in the #31 Ligier JS P320
On June 14, 2025, at Watkins Glen International, Matt Graham and Jake Latham claimed victory in the P3 category and secured third place overall in their HSR Prototype Challenge debut, driving the #31 Ligier JS P320.
For their first appearance in the HSR Prototype Challenge, Matt Graham and Jake Latham hit hard. Competing in the #31 Ligier JS P320, the duo dominated the P3 class and stepped onto the third step of the general ranking. An impressive performance for this duo, especially considering they have also taken care of a large part of the car's preparation, backed up by a team of enthusiasts and motorsport colleagues.
Two other Ligier cars completed the P3 podium: Dave House and Mikel Miller finished second in class (fifth overall) with their #86 Ligier JS P3, despite an overnight engine change. Meanwhile, Matt Forbush and Tom Long secured third place in P3 and sixth overall in the #18 Ligier JS P3, overcoming several technical issues.
Matt Graham, Driver – #31 Ligier JS P320:
“Watkins Glen is bucket list. This is world class. Jake and I have been racing together for probably 20 years, and this opportunity came up to get an LMP3 car, and we were like, ‘well, we're going to bring it to HSR, we're going to do this championship where they've got some really cool machinery out there and some great drivers.' People are really respectful, racing but just having fun, which is what we're looking for. This is our first time out in this championship. We've both driven cars like this a bit in the past, but this is the first time in this car and certainly at this track.”
Jake Latham, Driver – #31 Ligier JS P320:
“This was my first race in an LMP3 car, period. The fastest thing I've raced until now was pretty much a Radical. That's a big step, and I've wanted to drive an LMP3 car for nearly 10 years, or ever since I first saw one. I was like, ‘I just got to jump into one of those someday, it would be amazing.' And it was!”
Next round of the HSR Prototype Challenge presented by Michelin: the fourth race of the 2025 season at the HSR VIR Historics, from September 4 to 7 at Virginia International Raceway.
