IMSA Airbnb Endurance Challenge: Victory and title for Toney Driver Development at Road America
The finale of the inaugural IMSA Airbnb Endurance Challenge season took place over the weekend of August 15, 2026, at Road America in the United States. Toney Driver Development wrapped up the first campaign with a victory and a one-two finish for its Ligier JS P325s. The #95 Toney Driver Development Ligier JS P325 of Lincoln Day and Wyatt Brichacek won the two-hour race, ahead of the #30 Toney Driver Development Ligier JS P325 of Garett Grist and Ari Balogh, who secured the title. It marked the first U.S. title for the Ligier JS P325 since it began racing in the United States in 2026.
Victory for the #95 Toney Driver Development Ligier JS P325
The #95 Toney Driver Development Ligier JS P325, driven by Lincoln Day and Wyatt Brichacek, took the win 13.366 seconds ahead of their teammates in the #30, Ari Balogh and Garett Grist. For Brichacek, it was his second IMSA Airbnb Endurance Challenge victory of the season. For Lincoln Day, it was his first win of 2026.
“From the start, we held onto what we had from second place,” explained Wyatt Brichacek. “The Safety Car bunched everyone back up and put us back in the fight. We had to pass a few cars. We had the pace to do it, and then the #1 went off at the Carousel. That brought out the second caution, and from there we brought the car home.”
“It's amazing; this has been the dream since I started racing,” said Lincoln Day. “I started out in sim racing when I was younger. Now I just wanted to get that win. And to do it in endurance racing means a lot.”
The #30 Toney Driver Development Ligier JS P325 delivers the title.
Behind the #95, the #30 Toney Driver Development Ligier JS P325 of Garett Grist and Ari Balogh delivered a crucial race. Third in the championship before the finale, 40 points off the lead, the two drivers capitalized on difficulties for their direct rivals to move back into title contention.
After the final round of pit stops, Garett Grist moved up to second place and put the #30 Toney Driver Development Ligier JS P325 in position to secure the title. With second place at Road America, Ari Balogh and Garett Grist won the inaugural IMSA Airbnb Endurance Challenge season.
“It feels really good,” said Nathan Toney. “We knew we had what it took, but we had some unlucky races. We didn't know if we were going to be able to fight for the championship. I'm so proud of all the guys. This is our first full year in an IMSA series, so it's pretty unreal.”
A first U.S. title for the Ligier JS P325
This title marks an important milestone for the Ligier JS P325 in the United States. Since making its U.S. competition debut in 2026, the French manufacturer's LMP3 prototype has now claimed its first American title with Toney Driver Development.
It is also the second title won by a Ligier JS P325 this season, and the fourth since the third generation of Ligier LMP3 began racing in April 2025.
Following this first endurance season, the LMP3 category will continue its IMSA campaign with the final sprint rounds of the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, before returning with an expanded endurance format in 2027.
