IMSA: the #74 Ligier JS P320 entered by Riley scores its second victory and consolidates its lead in the championship.

Seven Ligier JS P320s turned up to do battle in the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen, the fourth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, on Sunday 25 June. While the weather upset the weekend's racing from time to time resulting in the cancellation of qualifying, the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen took place and ended with the victory of the #74 Riley Ligier JS P320 followed in second place by the #30 Ligier JS P320 run by Jr III Racing.

• Friday 23rd June. The #30 Ligier JS P320 run by Jr III Racing (Ari Balogh, Garett Grist and Dakota Dickerson) topped the time sheets in free practice 1 with a time of 1:41.139s, ahead of the #74 run by Riley (Gar Robinson, Felipe Fraga and Josh Burdon).

• Saturday. Because of torrential rain LMP3 qualifying was cancelled and grid positions were allocated according to the overall classification. Thus #74, the category leader, was on pole for tomorrow's race.

• The start of the Six Hours of Watkins Glen was given in the mid-morning.   Several LMP3s were locked in battle at the front end of the field, in particular Riley's #74 Ligier JS P320 and Jr III Racing's #30.

• With 50 minutes to go to the chequered flag, the #30 Ligier JS P320 led the race. However, Felipe Fraga in #74 pulled off a daring overtaking move on his rival Garett Grist. The two cars were running side by side and #74 came out on top, snatched the lead and went on to claim victory. #30 entered by Jr III Racing finished on the second step of the podium.

• It was Riley's second win in IMSA this season and its third on the bounce on the Watkins Glen circuit. #74 is still in first place in the championship with 730 points giving it a 125-point lead over its closest rival in second place.

• “We all understand the job that we're asked to do and required to do in order to achieve the results we want to achieve. I think that definitely comes from Bill Riley. He sets the example for all of us, and we all know what we have to do,” explained Gar Robinson

The fourth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in which the LMP3s will race will take place on 7 - 9 July on the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park circuit in Canada.
