Ligier Automotive on show with Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque at the Automobile Fashion Week in Paris

In 2018, Ligier Automotive unveiled its Ligier JS P4 at the Festival Automobile International. With its futuristic look and its aggressive lines, this Ligier sports prototype launched the very same year made quite an impression.

Which Ligier car will parade down the catwalk of the Automobile Fashion Week this year? And in which outfit? Jacques Nicolet, the President of Ligier Automotive, tells us all about it.

“We will be present during the 34th edition of the Festival Automobile International with the Ligier JS P217, our LM P2 new generation sports prototype. Equipped with a V8 Gibson engine - 4,2 litres, 600 horsepower and with a carbon monocoque and bodywork, it was the first new generation LM P2 to score a win in Europe, at Silverstone and in the United States, at Laguna Seca. European runner-up in 2017, it finished third at the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2018. Homologated until September 2021, you will see the Ligier JS P217 this year again in the FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, European Le Mans Series and at the Le Mans 24 Hours.

“For this Fashion Week, we have decided to dress the Ligier JS P217 with a special livery. An anniversary livery to celebrate the 50 years of the Ligier make founded in 1969 by Guy Ligier. As with the Ligier JS2 R, our GT unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last October, we have revisited the stylistic codes of the make's debuts. I won't tell you more!

“We also have another anniversary to celebrate in 2019: the 10 years of the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque Organisation at the Le Mans 24 Hours. Created in 1996, Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque operates on vulnerable children suffering from heart defects living in countries where the surgeries necessary to save them are impossible due to a lack of technical or financial means. More than 3000 children have already been operated; including 60 thanks to the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque's event at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Since our debuts as a racing team, and then as a racing car manufacturer, we have always tried to support this Organisation. We are proud to celebrate our anniversaries together”.

Come and discover the Ligier JS P217 in its anniversary livery from 30 January to 3 February at the Festival Automobile International!
