Ligier Automotive Group’s Expertise in Welded Fabrications

Welded fabrication is one of the core skills of the Ligier Automotive Group. Deployed across our Magny-Cours and Amilly facilities, as well as within Ligier Advanced Technologies (ISO 9001 certified), this expertise supports the production of Ligier race cars, the Group's engineering projects, and external client requests.

It meets the most demanding motorsport standards — from single-seaters to sports prototypes, rally, rally-raid, and GT racing.

High-Precision Welding Processes

The Group's highly skilled boilermakers, fitters, and welders master TIG, MIG, ARC, and brazing techniques, perfectly suited to the stringent requirements of motorsport.
A wide range of materials is used — including standard, treated, or annealed steels, aluminum, and stainless steel — to produce complex parts, from prototypes to small production runs, with strict demands for rigidity, lightness, and safety.

Fully Equipped Workshops

Our production sites feature state-of-the-art equipment, including:

  • 11 TIG stations and 6 MIG stations for steel and stainless steel welding
  • 7 precision jigs ensuring accurate and stable assemblies
  • A laser cutting machine for sheets and tubes, along with notching, bending, folding, drilling, milling, band sawing, shearing, polishing, and foot-operated pressing equipment for fine sheet metal work
  • A dedicated paint booth for epoxy finishes

These resources allow our experienced teams to produce high-quality, highly precise parts, regardless of welding position or complexity.

Quality, Traceability, and Certification

Every part manufactured — from tubular chassis, suspension arms, roll cages, uprights, radiators, intercoolers, and protective components to even airship gondolas — undergoes inspection using a 3D coordinate measuring machine.
Laser marking ensures full traceability, and X-ray inspections can be performed when required.

Production is managed through a Computer-Aided Production Management (CAPM) system, ensuring strict schedule control, process rigor, and operational efficiency.
Ligier Advanced Technologies' ISO 9001 certification reflects this commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Expertise Driving Performance

From motorsport to advanced engineering programs, the welded fabrication expertise of the Ligier Automotive Group meets the highest performance standards. This versatile know-how adapts to every application — from racing to high-tech industries — and contributes directly to the reliability and success of all Ligier projects.
