Ligier European Series and 24H SERIES: the ideal combination for CTF Performance
31st May 2021 – French team CTF Performance isn't shy about taking up new challenges. After its first season in the Ligier JS Cup France with its #95 Ligier JS2 R in 2020, which ended with the team clinching the Am title, and its first foray into the Ligier European Series in 2021, CTF Performance now has its eyes riveted on the 24H SERIES. Its aim? Participation with its Ligier JS2 R equipped with its endurance kit in the 24H of Barcelona this coming September, and then mount a double programme for 2022 with two Ligier JS2 R in the Ligier European Series and one, maybe two Ligier JS2 Rs in endurance trim for the 24H SERIES. Two complementary programmes that could attract other fans of the brand's small GT!
Aurélien Sire and Guillaume Revenu set up CTF Performance in 2011, and opted for the Ligier JS2 R. The French team that began in hill climbs and local rallies before tackling single-make series and 24H series, already boasts excellent results with at least one title per year since its debut whether in the Lamera Cup or in the 24H SERIES. In 2020, it bought its first Ligier JS2 R which it entered in the Ligier JS Cup France for two of its regulars, Nicolas Beraud and Fabien Delaplace. And the magic worked wonders straight away. The team won the 2020 Am championship title with its #95 Ligier JS2 R. Boosted by its first title with the French GT, CTF Performance decided to forge ahead and entered for the Ligier European Series in 2021. Here it found itself up against much tougher competition and also it had to cope with the brand's sports prototypes, the Ligier JS P4s, that share the track with the Ligier JS2 Rs. Here too the team has put on scintillating performances and on several occasions it finished just shy of the podium, while its drivers have already left their mark with attacking moves and defence worthy of the best.
While the 2021 Ligier European Series season is now in full swing, CTF Performance is already focused on a new challenge, still with the Ligier JS2 R: its return to the 24H SERIES. In 2018, it was champion in the 24H SERIES des Continents in the SP3 category. The team is determined to renew its assault on the championship and pick up victories, this time with its Ligier JS2 R fitted with its endurance kit. In its sights are the 24H of Barcelona at the beginning of September and then the 24H of Dubai in January 2022. The team has already signed half of its driver lineups for these two races.
“We're a team that's absolutely passionate about endurance,” explains Aurélien Sire, the CTF Performance Team Manager. “The Ligier European Series is a really great series with a fantastic organisation and breathtaking circuits. Our aim is to combine this programme with 24H SERIES. The Ligier European Series calendar is ideal for this as it enables us to carry out post-race revisions and then prepare for the 12 or 24-hour races that are much more demanding on the car. We can't wait to discover the Ligier JS2 R with its endurance kit at the 24H SERIES of Barcelona. We're still looking for two drivers to take on this adventure alongside us. It'll be great preparation for the 2022 season!”
For 2022, the team is already looking at the big picture with two Ligier JS2 Rs entered for the full season in the Ligier European Series and one or two Ligier JS2 Rs in endurance trim for the 24H SERIES. It's a programme that suits the Ligier JS2 R down to the ground as it offers unbeatable value in terms of the ratio between racing and cost! Indeed, CTF Performance isn't the only team running the Ligier JS2 R or from the Ligier European Series giving serious thought to this double programme. The Ligier JS P4, also eligible for the 24H SERIES, offers the same possibilities to sports prototype and endurance lovers. Enthusiasts, take note!
