Ligier JS Cup France : The JS2 R #9 ORHES – MATIMMMO – COMEBACK wins for the first time at Spa.

The third round of the Ligier JS Cup France 2024 took place on 3 and 4 May on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. 24 Ligier JS2 Rs competed for honours on a dry track. In the Elite category, the #9 Ligier JS2 R of Orhès - Matimmo - Comeback, (T. Martinez/ E. Merzougui/ O. Pernaut) took its first win of the season. In the Gentlemen's category, it was another Orhès team car which finished first, the #21 Orhès Systemic (T. Nouet / B. Riviere/ P. Sersot).

- On Friday May 3, the drivers took part in three hours of private testing, followed by a one-hour free practice session. The 30-minute qualifying session got underway the following morning.

- The #9 Ligier JS2 R of Orhès - Matimmo - Comeback took pole position in the Elite category with a best time of 02:31.443.

- In the Gentleman category, the #70 Ligier of Zosh Homie set the fastest qualifying time in 02:31.481.

- The four-hour race got underway at 10.50am on Saturday May 4.

 

The #9 Ligier JS2 R of Orhès - Matimmo - Comeback leads the Elite category.

- The #9 Ligier JS2 R of Orhès - Matimmo - Comeback (T. Martinez/ E. Merzougui/ O. Pernaut) took its first victory of 2024 after a solid race.

- The #139 DRIVN - ADX 139 (X. Dayraut/ A. Deldossi) finished second after two difficult first races.

- The #83 Trajectus Motorsport 83 (V. Bouteiller/ M. Lacquemanne) rounded off the top 3 in the Elite classification.

 

First victory in the Gentleman category for the #21 Orhès Systemic

- Orhès Systemic's #21 Ligier JS2 R (T. Nouet / B. Riviere/ P. Sersot) added another victory to Orhès' list of honours by finishing first in the Gentleman category for the first time this season.

- It was also a first for the #8 DRIVN - FCR (F. Coibion/ J. Doncieux/ S. Hebrard), which claimed its first podium by finishing second.

- The #22 of Zosh 22 crossed the chequered flag in third place, bringing to three the number of podium finishes achieved in the three races contested.

The next Ligier JS Cup France race takes place at Magny-Cours on May 24.
