Prototype Cup Germany: victory and podiums for the Ligier JS P320

The second round of the Prototype Cup Germany 2024 took place from July 12 to 14 at the Zandvoort circuit on the Dutch North Sea. Antti Rammo won from the back of the grid in Race 1 in the #14 MRS-GT Racing Ligier JS P320, while podium finishes for Torsten Kratz and Danny Soufi (Konrad Motorsport, #2) consolidated their position at the top of the overall standings.

- On Saturday, July 13, Race 1 was settled by a Safety Car intervention, triggered by the immobilization of a car on the trackside.

- All competitors then made their compulsory stop, with a driver change. Antti Rammo, the sole driver of the #14 MRS-GT Racing Ligier JS P320, gained an appreciable amount of time in the pits and emerged in the lead by more than ten seconds, despite having started from the last position on the grid.

“A technical issue meant I had to wait until qualifying to get my first laps under my belt,” said the Estonian driver. “With that in mind, we obviously never expected to win. We were definitely lucky with the Safety Car.”

- After the restart, Race 1 saw a three-way battle for second place, finally won by the #2 Ligier JS P320 Konrad Motorsport driven by Torsten Kratz and Danny Soufi.

“After the pit stop, I came back out in second place, indicated Kratz. “The cars behind me then put me under some real pressure, which did not make life any easier. However, I gave it all.”

- On Sunday, July 14, the #2 Ligier JS P320 finished Race 2 in third place. After a fine recovery from seventh to second place, the #30 of Klaus Abbelen and Felipe Laser (Frikadelli Racing Team) finished second.

- This double Dutch podium enabled the Konrad Motorsport duo to consolidate their position at the top of the overall standings. Thanks to their victory, Antti Rammo and MRS-GT Racing climbed from fifth to fourth place, followed by the duo Klaus Abbelen / Felipe Laser and Frikadelli Racing Team.

For the next meeting on August 9-11, the Prototype Cup Germany returns to Germany, to the Hockenheim circuit.
