Silverstone on the 2025 Ligier European Series calendar
As it prepares to close its 2024 season at Portimão on 17 and 18 October, the Ligier European Series unveils its 2025 calendar with six rounds at Europe's finest circuits. For its sixth season, the series continues to innovate, adding Silverstone to the line-up. For the fourth year running, the series offers its competitors a taste of the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit in an exceptional round on Test Day.
The stepping stone to the Michelin Le Mans Cup (MLMC) and European Le Mans Series (ELMS) continues to develop and attract new teams and drivers from around the globe. As proof, the 2024 campaign can boast a robust grid of 20 season entries representing more than 13 nationalities from Taiwan to Colombia. The series can equally take pride in seeing its former drivers compete and shine at every level of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest endurance pyramid, from the MLMC and ELMS to the World Endurance Championship (WEC), such as the 2022 JS P4 Champion, the 2023 MLMC Champion and currently third in the ELMS LMP3 category, Gillian Henrion.
Six heats on Europe's finest circuits
The programme for season six includes six rounds of two races each, on the same weekends as the MLMC and the ELMS (except the Le Mans Heat).
As in the last two seasons, the season will kick off in Spain on 4 and 5 April at the Circuit de Barcelona, before heading to Circuit Paul Ricard on 2 and 3 May.
Then it will be on to the calendar's showpiece event, the Le Mans Heat, on the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit, during the Test Day on 8 June.
After a summer break, the season will resume at Spa-Francorchamps on 22 and 23 August.
The series will visit England for the first time in its history. The competitors will discover the Silverstone circuit on 12 and 13 September.
The series will continue its tradition and conclude the 2025 season in the Algarve on the Portimão circuit on 16 and 17 October.

Heat 6: 16-17 October – Portimão, Portugal
The ingredients of the Ligier European Series
- Condensed two-day format with 3 hours 40 minutes of track time (except the Le Mans Heat) split between 1 and 2 drivers.
- A calendar matching that of the MLMC and ELMS (except the Le Mans Heat), offering drivers and teams the possibility of combining their programmes.
- Two categories: GT and sport-prototypes with the Ligier JS2 R and Ligier JS P4.
- PRO-AM and AM classifications to promote the different profiles of drivers and crews.
- Races live-streamed on YouTube and Facebook.
- A series supported by French manufacturer Ligier Automotive.
- A unique prize system with prize money equivalent to €150,000 for the Ligier JS P4 champion(s) to compete in the MLMC the following season behind the wheel of a Ligier JS P320 and €100,000 for the Ligier JS2 R champion(s) to compete in the Ligier European Series the following season in a Ligier JS P4.
