Ligier JS P320 Dubai Asian Le Mans Series win MV2S Racing

The Ligier JS P320s scored a victory and podium finishes in Dubai in the first weekend of the Asian Le Mans Series!

The 2023 Asian Le Mans Series kicked off on 11 - 12 February in Dubai. The Ligier JS P320s scored a clean sweep of the podium in the first race thanks to three French teams! The #29 MV2S Racing entry emerged victorious from #8 run by Graff Racing and CD Sport's #1, winner of the 2022 LMP3 title. Sunday's heat saw a double podium for the French constructor with the #8 Graff Racing Ligier JS P320 clinching the second place again this weekend, while MV2S Racing's #29 saw the flag in third position.

• 13 Ligier JS P320s made up the bulk of the field of the 15 LMP3s entered for the 2023 Asian Le Mans Series.

• COOL Racing's #17 Ligier JS P320 (Cédric Oltramare, Adrien Chila and Marcos Siebert) topped the time sheets in the first free practice session with a lap in 1:54.380s.

Race 1, 11th February:

• After a closely-fought duel, #29 entered by MV2S Racing (Fabien Lavergne, Jérôme de Sadeleer and Viacheslav Gutak) won race 1 from Graff Racing's #8 (Fabrice Rossello, Xavier Lloveras and François Heriau). #1 entered by CD Sport (Michael Jensen, Nick Adcock and Valdemar Eriksen) filled third spot on the podium.

• It was MV2S Racing's first win in LMP3 since the team was set up in 2014!

• “I'm delighted with our first victory despite the fact that we had a pretty hectic race and made a few errors. I would like to congratulate the team for implementing such a marvelous strategy. It's a superb result for the whole group,” smiled Fabien Lavergne, driver and team manager of MV2S Racing.

Race 2, 12th February:

• Second podium finish on the bounce for Graff Racing's #8 Ligier JS P320 and for #29 entered by MV2S Racing. #8 again clinched second place followed home in third by #29.

• Vladislav Lomko in the #2 CD Sport Ligier JS P320 set the fastest lap in the race in 1:54.912.

• The #29 Ligier JS P320 holds the provisional lead in the championship with 40 points in front of #8 run by Graff Racing.

Rendezvous on 17 - 18 February in Abu Dhabi for the second and final round of the 2023 Asian Le Mans Series.
