V de V, Estoril 2018: Another triple for the Ligier JS P3 and a fifth LM P3 title for Ligier in 2018

2-3 November in Estoril (Portugal), seventh and last round of the V de V Endurance Series. The LM P3 title is at stake. The season ends on a high note: triple podium for the Ligier JS P3 with the #69 Monza Garage Ligier JS P3, the #26 Wimmer Werk Motorsport Ligier JS P3 and the #33 Inter Europol Competition Ligier JS P3. The #26 Wimmer Werk Motorsport Ligier JS P3 seals the LM P3 title. This is Ligier's fifth LM P3 title of the season.

For the final, the first row is 100% Ligier with the #69 Monza Garage Ligier JS P3 driven by John Corbett, James Winslow and Andréas Laskaratos and the #26 Wimmer Werk Motorsport Ligier JS P3 of Lukas Dunner, Matthias Kaiser and Klaus Bachler.

The race for the title is tight. Only 1,5 points separate the two cars in the running for the title – the #26 Wimmer Werk Motorsport Ligier JS P3 and the #22 Inter Europol Competition Ligier JS P3 with Jakub Smiechowski, Pontus Fredriksson and Martin Hippe. The objective for the two Ligier is clear: to finish the race before the other. During the first three hours, the #26 and #22 engaged in a fierce battle. Mid-race, the #22 Ligier JS P3 is forced to abandon due to a mechanical incident.

The #26 Wimmer Werk Motorsport Ligier JS P3 finishes second, only 6/10th of a second behind the #69 Monza Garage Ligier JS P3. The #33 Inter Europol Competition Ligier JS P3 of Paul Scheuschner, Moritz Müller-Crepon and Xavier Michel that started from the back of the grid claims third position after a stunning race.
