Victory for the PTRS Ligier JS P3s for the opening round of the China Endurance Series
The Shanghai circuit hosted the inaugural round of the China Endurance Series (formerly FRD LM P3 Series) this weekend. Eleven Ligier JS P3s took part in this first round of the Chinese series. Two one-hour free practices, two ten-minute qualifying sessions and two one-hour races were on the programme for the six competing teams. More than 50,000 spectators were present for this first great heat.
On Saturday, the #17 PTRS and #3 Eurasia Ligier JS P3 cars battled during the whole race, each holding on to first place alternately. Ultimately, the #25 PTRS Ligier JS P3, which had clinched pole position, came first, followed by the #18 KCMG Ligier JS P3. Penalised for overtaking before the starting line, the #17 PTRS and #3 Eurasia Ligier JS P3 cars respectively finished third and fourth.
On Sunday, the #17 PTRS Ligier JS P3 scored first. Second and third spot on the podium went to the #5 S&D and #25 PTRS Ligier JS P3s.
The next round of the China Endurance Series will be held on 26-27 May 2018 on the Ningbo circuit of the Zhejiang province.
