Ligier Advanced Technologies Announces Exclusive Partnership with Volland Racing for the Distribution of the Ligier XC04 Cross Car in Germany.
Ligier Advanced Technologies is proud to announce the signing of an exclusive partnership with Volland Racing, which becomes the official distributor of the Ligier XC04 Cross Car in Germany. This strategic partnership is part of Ligier's broader expansion of its commercial network in Europe, with the goal of strengthening the Cross Car's presence in key markets and supporting its continued growth on the international stage.
What is Cross Car?
Cross Car is an off-road motorsport discipline involving lightweight tubular chassis powered by motorcycle engines, designed to race on mixed-surface tracks (dirt and asphalt). Compact, powerful, and agile, Cross Cars delivers rally-style sensations in a more accessible format. Supported by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile), the category serves as a gateway for young drivers into the rally pyramid, which also includes autocross, rallycross, and rally raid.
A Pathway for Emerging Talent
Volland Racing is launching a dedicated structure focused entirely on Cross Car with a clear mission: to identify, train, and support young drivers aiming to enter the world of motorsport.
Bertrand Decoster, Managing Director of Ligier Advanced Technologies, explains the purpose of the partnership:
"This partnership reflects a shared ambition to accelerate the growth of Cross Car in Europe through a structured and ambitious approach. Our goal is to build a sustainable and accessible pathway, built on performance and passion."
A Competitive Presence on the Track
In addition to its role as distributor, Volland Racing is actively competing on the European racing scene. The team is taking part in the German ADAC XC Cup, one of the key events in the Cross Car calendar. Their direct involvement helps to promote the Ligier XC04 in demanding competitive settings, further strengthening its visibility and credibility internationally.
Two Drivers, One Ambition
Representing the partnership on track in 2025 are two drivers: Tim Braumüller and Hotian Deng, the first Chinese driver to compete in Cross Car.
Their debut performances are promising: during the first race weekend, Tim Braumüller secured a second-place finish overall, showcasing the strong potential of this new racing duo.
A Strategic Partnership Serving a European Vision
Through this collaboration, Ligier Advanced Technologies reaffirms its commitment to developing the Cross Car category across Europe. By partnering with dedicated and experienced organizations like Volland Racing, the brand aims to solidify its leadership in the segment while continuing its mission to nurture the next generation of motorsport talent.
