Ligier-Powered U.S. Championships Conclude 2025 Season at Barber Motorsports Park.

A full field of Ligier single-seaters wraps up another competitive year in the United States.

Barber Motorsports Park hosted the final rounds of the 2025 Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas), F4 U.S. Championship (F4 U.S.), and the Ligier Junior Formula Championship (JFC). The Alabama circuit welcomed a total of 34 Ligier single-seaters on track—marking one of the largest combined grids of the year and closing out a season that saw 68 drivers compete across the three development categories.

Sherlock seals the FR Americas title in style

Titus Sherlock claimed the 2025 FR Americas Championship title with a second-place finish in Race 1 driving the Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3. He capped his season in spectacular fashion with a daring last-corner move to win the second and final race of the year.

Sherlock's consistency and speed earned him not only the championship crown but also a $100,000 prize check, presented during the post-race awards banquet. Across the season, 23 drivers and six teams competed in FR Americas, showcasing the continued growth of the Ligier JS F3-powered series.

Adding to the excitement, the recently crowned F4 U.S. champion made his debut in FR Americas with Kiwi Motorsports, scoring a podium finish in his very first race in the category.

Record-breaking season for Shipman in F4 U.S. Championship

In the F4 U.S., Cooper Shipman dominated the season at the wheel of his Kiwi Motorsports Ligier JS F422. Shipman set a new series record with nine race victories and clinched the title at the penultimate round at Virginia International Raceway.

Across the fifteen races he contested, Shipman finished lower than second only twice—a remarkable display of consistency. At Barber, Alex Popow took both race wins to climb to second in the overall standings with MLT Motorsports.

As part of his championship prize, Shipman will now take delivery of a Ligier JS F3 to compete in the 2026 FR Americas, continuing his journey up the Ligier driver development ladder.

Irazú crowned Ligier Junior Formula Champion

The Ligier Junior Formula Championship title was decided at Barber, with Gastón Irazú Clinches from Uruguay emerging as the 2025 champion with the Champagne Racing Ligier JS F4. With five victories and four additional podiums over the season, Irazú showcased maturity and pace throughout his campaign.

As his prize, Irazú will receive a Ligier JS F422, allowing him to graduate to the F4 U.S. in 2026 and continue his development within the Ligier ecosystem.

Looking ahead, the 2026 Ligier Junior Formula Championship will feature the Ligier JS F422 equipped with a reduced power map, enabling young drivers to enter the series in a fully FIA-compliant halo car that can accompany them from JFC to F4 U.S.

A complete driver development pathway powered by Ligier

From the Ligier JS F4 in JFC and the Ligier JS F422 in F4 U.S. to the Ligier JS F3 in FR Americas, the 2025 season once again demonstrated the strength of Ligier Automotive's comprehensive single-seater program in North America. With new talent emerging and champions moving up the ranks, the Ligier-powered ladder in the U.S. continues to provide a clear and competitive pathway for the next generation of racing drivers.
