Onroak Automotive becomes involved in World RX
Today, the name Onroak Automotive is well known at circuits on all the continents thanks to its sports prototypes and single-seaters.
By taking over the activities of Tork Engineering in September 2017, the constructor has expanded its range of skills and design and production facilities, in particular for silhouette and touring cars. As the 2018 season gets under way Onroak Automotive is hard at work on a new model, a Peugeot 208 that will race in the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship, the World RX.
The man behind this project is Grégoire Demoustier who has chosen Onroak Automotive to develop the Peugeot 208 he'll be driving this year. Using a series production Peugeot 208 as a base, the Onroak Automotive design department has conceived and designed a new car complying with the FIA World RX regulations.
The shell has been almost completely remodelled, the installation of the engine and gearbox optimised, and all the mechanical elements like the suspension, the cooling system and the exchangers have been conceived exclusively for this model by the Amilly design department. All the bodywork has been reworked and the elements will be produced in the Onroak Automotive composites workshops at Magny-Cours. The car will be assembled in the Amilly workshops.
Onroak Automotive will also provide a development and support programme before and during the season that will kick off on 14-15 April in Barcelona in Spain.
This Peugeot 208 driven by Grégoire Demoustier will be entered by Sébastien Loeb Racing for the 2018 World RX season.
