The #23 Panis Barthez Compétition Ligier JS P217 in the LM P2 top 5

After the Test Day on the 3rd of June, the 60 teams entered in the 86th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans took to the track again on Wednesday and Thursday for a free practice session and three qualifying sessions which, combined, determine the starting grid.

At the heart of a field of twenty LM P2 cars, the eight Ligier JS P217 on track are being run by very different teams. You will find former Formula 1 drivers, young professional drivers and gentlemen drivers behind the wheel of the sport-prototypes designed by Onroak Automotive.

The results of these two evenings of practice sessions clearly showed the progression made by the new aerodynamic kit of the Ligier JS P217.

Wednesday evening, at the end of the first qualifying session, the #22 Ligier JS P217 of the Anglo-American team United Autosports, entrusted to Phil Hanson, Filipe Albuquerque and Paul Di Resta, classified in 6th place in the LM P2 class with a best lap of 3:26.772.

By the end of the second evening of qualifying sessions, the #23 Panis Barthez Compétition Ligier JS P217, driven by Timothé Buret, Julien Canal and Will Stevens, finished in the top 5 of the LM P2 category, with a time of 3:25.376, only five tenths away from LM P2 pole.
