ELMS – 6 Ligier JS P3s fill the first six places in the LM P3 category!

This weekend at Monza six Ligier JS P3s crossed the finishing line in the first six places in the LM P3 category.  After the second round of the ELMS, the first six places in the overall LM P3 classification are also filled by teams running the Onroak Automotive sports prototypes.

After finishing third at Paul Ricard the Eurointernational team won the race with its #11 Ligier JS P3 and it now leads the LM P3 teams' general classification. After a hotly-contested 4-hour event on the very fast Monza layout joining the winners, Giorgio Mondini and Kay Van Berlo, on the podium were the drivers in the #6  Ligier JS P3 run by 360 Racing and those in the #3 United Autosports Ligier JS P3.

The chequered flag then fell on the #13 Ligier JS P3 entered by Inter Europol Competition followed by the reigning champions, the #2 Ligier JS P3 of United Autosports, which suffered a puncture due to a contact 10 minutes before the end of the race. Completing the 100% Ligier top 6 was the #5 Ligier JS P3 #5 run by Nefis by Speed Factory.

In LM P2, the best result by a Ligier JS P217 was scored by the Panis Barthez Compétition entry as was the case at Paul Ricard although it had to make do with seventh place despite a good performance. The Ligier JS P217s run by United Autosports were also on the pace and led the race for several laps as well as being in the top 5 for a long part of the event. Several safety car deployments and a penalty handed down in the last hour dropped #22 and #32 out of the top 5.
