F4 U.S.: Patrick Woods-Toth wins the 2023 F4 US Championship!

The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) hosted the final round of the F4 US Championship on 2 - 5 November 2023. Titus Sherlock, Augusto Soto- Schirripa and Patrick Woods-Toth shared the victories in the three races. Woods-Toth clinched the 2023 F4 U.S. Championship title in the first heat of the weekend.

• On Thursday 2nd November, Daniel Cara's #10 Origin Motorsports Ligier JS F4 posted the best time in free practice 1 in 2:15.290s.

• Later on, the #24 F4 (International Motorsport) driven by Augusto Soto-Schirripa topped the timesheets with a lap in 2:15.045s.

• Finally, Titus Sherlock bagged pole position in the #31 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport entry when he set the fastest lap of the 26 cars.

Race 1:

• Friday 3rd November - Although Sherlock won the first race of the weekend it was not enough to beat his rival Woods-Toth at the wheel of the #27 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport F4 in the title chase. The latter, who finished on the third step of the podium, clinched the 2023 F4 US Championship crown. A great result for the driver who was in only his first year in single-seater racing!

• “It was a super long and tough race today, but I just did exactly what I needed to do and stayed out front after starting on the pole (…) The whole race I had maybe a couple of car lengths gap, but the last two laps, [Soto-Schirripa] was right on me.”

Race 2:

• The same day, Augusto Soto-Schirripa won race 2 and added a fourth victory to his season's tally.

• “This feels great,” said Soto-Schirripa after climbing from the car. “A year ago, I wouldn't have thought that I'd be here. So just being here is an honor. I'm over the moon right now. It was a fun race—probably the most fun race I've had all year. I think everyone enjoyed that, so hopefully we can put on a show tomorrow, too.”

Race 3:

• Woods-Toth won the final race of the season on Sunday 5th November by a whisker, as the 2023 champion had to fight off the attacks of Jesse Lacey in the #16 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport  F4 at the very end of the race. He crossed the finishing line just 0.017 seconds ahead!

• “We wrapped up the championship yesterday after such a strong year, and today, we were just going for gold,” said Woods-Toth from Victory Lane. “It's nice to end on a high note. Finishing first on track and we came away with a championship—that's the most important part. I'm just so happy and thankful for the team, my sponsors, everyone. It's been such an amazing year.”
