IMSA VP Racing, VIR: Aghakhani confirm his leading position with the #6 Ligier JS P320.

The penultimate round of the IMSA VP Racing Sportscar Challenge 2024 held on August 23-25 at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) saw Steven Aghakhani confirm his position as leader of the Drivers Championship, with the #6 MLT Motorsports Ligier JS P320.

Steven Aghakhani and MLT Motorsports were never out of the top 3 throughout the weekend, in both free practice sessions (first and then second) and qualifying (second), before finishing on the podium in both races.

Race 1: Double podium for the Ligier teams with MLT Motorsports and Escuderia ABRO

- Steven Aghakhani at the wheel of the #6 MLT Motorsports Ligier JS P320 played the consistency card in Race 1 on Saturday, scoring second-place points.

- Miguel Villagomez finished third in the #23 Escuderia ABRO Ligier JS P320, taking the trophy for best Bronze driver.

- Ryan Phinny finished just off the podium in the #51 Rick Ware Racing with Ave Motorsports Ligier JS P320.

Race 2: Another double Ligier podium with MLT Motorsports and Forte Racing

- Steven Aghakhani finished the second race in second place once again.

- Brian Thienes, driver of Forte Racing's #77, fifth in Race 1, took the third step of the podium and gave Forte Racing valuable points in the provisional standings.

- Ryan Phinny once again finished just off the podium (#51 Rick Ware Racing with Ave Motorsports Ligier JS P320).
