Ligier Automotive North America F4 U.S. “New Driver Test”
Earlier in 2024 when Ligier Automotive North America launched the second generation F4 U.S. Championship car, the Ligier JS F422, the global open wheel ladder participants took notice. This car employs all of the very latest FIA spec safety advances including a truly integrated halo system and side intrusion protection – items that are very important to the parents of young drivers looking to climb the ladder – and utilizes an exciting V4 pushrod Ligier Storm engine producing 180HP. Throughout the 2024 season the cars have produced exciting and close races and have received very positive reviews from both drivers and teams, and the series is poised for strong growth in 2025 and beyond.
For a young driver looking to graduate from karting or begin a journey up the open wheel development ladder, F4 U.S. Championship should be a strong consideration. Eligible for full FIA superlicense points and with the cars and parts cost controlled by the FIA, the series represents the best value in US open wheel racing and with annual operating budgets in the range of $225K to $250K, F4 U.S. Championship is a more affordable option than many other F4 series around the globe. The series also offers generous career advancement scholarships to successful drivers and attracts drivers from around the world with close to half the current field coming from outside the US. With close competition on iconic racetracks at an affordable budget, they recognize this series as their best option to advance their open wheel careers.
Now we can offer an opportunity for young drivers to sample the Ligier JS F422, the Formula Regional Americas Ligier JS F3 and more at the Ligier New Driver Test. Taking place at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina (an easy 90-minute drive from the air traffic hub of Charlotte, NC) on October 1st and 2nd 2024, nearly all of the current F4 U.S. Championship and FR Americas teams will be onsite and available for testing. 50% of the run time at this test will be dedicated to drivers new to the series and Ligier Automotive will also provide off track content such as commercial and branding seminars, track walk and technical seminars. U. S. F4 Championship and FR Americas series leadership will be onsite also to answer any questions about the series. This event represents a valuable opportunity for young European, Asian and South American drivers to meet and build relationships with US teams and explore their options to join the F4 U.S. Championship and FR Americas series in 2025.
