Ligier JS Cup France: the #9 Ligier JS2 R of Orhès – Matimmo – Comeback takes its second win of the season.

The fourth round of the sixth season of the Ligier JS Cup France took place at the Magny-Cours circuit on 24 and 26 May, with no fewer than 31 Ligier JS2 R cars. The #9 Orhès - Matimmo - Comeback Ligier JS2 R claimed its second consecutive victory in the Elite class with its usual trio of Thomas Martinez, Olivier Pernaut and Emeric Merzougui. In the Gentleman category, it was one of the team's sister cars which scored its first win of the season: the #17 Ligier JS2 R of Orhès - Match Competition, with Christian Gille, Mathieu Gille and Olivier Porta. In the Junior standings, Vincent Bouteiller in the #83 Trajectus Motorsport 83 clinched his first win.

- After three hours of private testing on Friday 24 May, free practice and qualifying resumed on Sunday 26 May.

- The drivers had to cope with capricious weather conditions on the Nivernais track. On Sunday, the morning rain gave way to a sunny afternoon, offering the competitors a race full of twists and turns.

- The #17 Orhès Match Competition car, classified Gentleman, set the fastest time overall in 02:05.569 and took pole position. It edged out the #70 Zosh - Homie Ligier JS2 R Elite with its best time of 02:05.695.

- The start of the six-hour race followed at 11.30am.

 

The #9 Orhès - Matimmo - Comeback Ligier JS2 R claimed its second consecutive victory in the Elite category.

- Starting from ninth on the grid, the 2023 title holder, the #9 Orhès - Matimmo - Comeback Ligier JS2 R, drove a faultless race to claim its second victory of the season with Thomas Martinez, Olivier Pernaut and Emeric Merzougui at the wheel.

- The #139 Drivn - Adx 139 Ligier JS2 R took second place in the Elite standings for the second time this season after leading much of the race (X. Dayraut / L. Meric).

- The #35 Ultimate Ligier JS2 R with Gilles Heriau, Raphael Jallageas and Arlan Boulain rounded off the top 3 in the category, scoring its second podium finish of 2024.

 

Orhès - Match Competition triumphs for the first time in the Gentleman category.

- The #17 Orhès - Match Competition Ligier JS2 R, with Christian Gille, Mathieu Gille and Olivier Porta, scored its first victory in the Gentleman category after leading the entire race.

- In second place, another Orhès team car, the #21 of Orhès-Systemic, claimed its third podium.

- Positioned 13th on the grid, the crew of the #63 Speboff By M3, comprising Vincent Roches, Sylvain Caroff and Alain Ferté, rounded off the Gentleman's podium with a fine collective performance.

Vincent Bouteiller at the wheel of the #83 Trajectus Motorsport 83 wins the Junior class.

- Vincent Bouteiller started from pole position in the Junior class and led the entire race, taking his first victory in the category in the #83 Trajectus Motorsport Ligier JS2 R.

- He won ahead of Romain Boeckler in the #15 TMP by LVR Ligier JS2 R, who continued to rack up points in the Junior standings.

- After a great fight at the end of the race, Thomas Pompidou snatched third place in the #27 XP Racing Ligier JS2 R.

 

The Ligier Junior Programme in brief:

- Provision of a JS P4 for the winner of the Junior ranking in the Ligier JS Cup France in 2024 to take part in the 2025 Ligier European Series season.

- 100,000 € for the JS2 R champion(s) to take part in the following season's Ligier European Series at the wheel of a JS P4 (prize system in effect since 2022).

- 150,000 € for the JS P4 champion(s) to compete the following season in the Michelin Le Mans Cup at the wheel of a Ligier JS P320 (LMP3) (prize system in effect since 2022).
