The Ligier JS2 R makes a marvelous start in the FFSA French Touring Car Championship!
The Paul Armagnac Nogaro circuit hosted the opening round of the FFSA French Touring Car Championship for the Coupes de Pâques meeting between 7 - 10 April. During this weekend, the Ligier JS2 R, the Ligier Automotive constructor's GT, shone in the GT Light category by clinching three out of four possible victories as well as being on the podium in all four events: a marvelous start for the Ligier JS2 R on its first outing in this championship!
• The #27 Belt Racing by LVR Ligier JS2 R (Ewen Hachez and Edouard Hery) took first place in free practice 1 in the GT Light category. It was followed by Pole Position 81's #5 driven by Stéphane Codet.
• Ewen Hachez in the #27 Ligier JS2 R clinched first place in the GT Light category in the opening qualifying session setting the fastest lap in a time of 1:34.501s.
• The #5 JS2 R Ligier dominated the second session. The GT posted the quickest lap in its category in 1:34.862s.
• Victory in race 1 went to Ewen Hachez in #27 run by Belt Racing by LVR. The young driver was followed by Stéphane Codet in #5 entered by Pole Position 81. The team's second car, #29 with David Chiche at the wheel, saw the flag in third place.
• The #5 Ligier JS2 R came home second in race 2 followed by #29.
• Race 3 ended in a 100% Ligier JS2 R podium! Ewen Hachez scored his second consecutive victory in the #27 Ligier JS2 R and #5 finished on the second step of the podium (for the third time) with #29 completing the top 3.
• The Pole Position 81 team secured the final victory of the weekend in race 4 with the #29 Ligier JS2 R. Its sister car, #5, finished third.
Rendezvous on the Magny-Cours circuit on 5 - 7 May for the second round of the FFSA French Touring Car Championship.
