A new collection Ligier x Hungaria to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the French sports car make, Ligier

Hungaria has created a new clothing line to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the French make, Ligier: a chic sportswear collection in Ligier's anniversary colours, which will delight the fans of the “Les Bleus”!

This year, the French make, Ligier, born in 1969 of Guy Ligier's passion for motor sport, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Fifty years marked by its debut in endurance and second place in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1975 with the Ligier JS2, 20 seasons in F1 crowned by nine victories and pole positions, 50 podiums and the runner-up spot in the Constructors' World Championship in 1980. In 2013, Jacques Nicolet gave the make a new élan when he acquired it and then created Ligier Automotive.

For its 50th birthday, Ligier Automotive has designed a brand-new car the Ligier JS2 R, a small GT. This anniversary model has updated the lines of its ancestor, the Ligier JS2 from the 1970s. Its sporty appearance has already appealed to enthusiasts. This year, almost 30 Ligier JS2 Rs are competing in the Ligier JS Cup France, a single-make formula devoted to the Ligier JS2 R.

Hungaria, the French shoes and sportswear brand founded in 1931 - Ligier's partner since 2018 - has created a new Ligier x Hungaria collection to celebrate this anniversary. “Hungaria is one of the oldest sportswear brands in France and it is particularly proud to be associated with Ligier once again,” says Fabien Vancoille, Hungaria Brand Manager. “To celebrate the 50th anniversary of its iconic partner, Hungaria has created a specific collection of clothes and elegant accessories.

And of course, it is a blue, white and red collection that's elegant, sporty and vintage. Two collector T-shirts complete the range of T-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, pullovers, down jackets, and accessories with a new cap and a travel bag. In pride of place, the Ligier JS2 from 1975 and the Ligier JS2 R.

The collection is now available in the Ligier corner in Les Galeries Lafayette in Le Mans and in the hungariasport.com e-shop. It will also be displayed in the official Ligier boutique in the 24 Hours of Le Mans Village at the Test Day on 2nd June and during the 24 Hours of Le Mans Week.
